I don't currently have a boyfriend but I'm not alone all the time. If I happen to date a guy that I get serious with, then I'll tell my parents. Otherwise, I'm not breaking their hearts.

Being alone and being lonely aren't the same thing. Currently, at 3:20 in the morning, I'm alone. But I'm not lonely.
